My Everyday Makeup & Beauty Routine
Every year I like to share an update on my makeup routine. Although my application process is generally the same, I want to switch up my products every now and keep things feeling fresh and new. Above you’ll see a mix of both, some items I’ve loved and have purchased for years, and some are new and quickly become fast favorites! I personally really enjoy applying makeup and experimenting with new things, but if that’s not your jam, that’s okay too! Feel free to read through and adapt/ignore whatever steps feel right to you.

Instructions
1. Prep + Prime Skin
At the very least, be sure to cleanse, moisturize and apply SPF to your skin before applying makeup. I have recently started using Curology as my skin care routine. I have suffered with acne since being a teen and have been suffering in my adult years as well. I have found that Curology has been helping and has saved me from having to go to a dermatologist. You can get your first month for free here if you want to give Curology a try. You get a cleanser, moisturizer and your custom acne treatment. For SPF, I’ve loved Glowscreen SPF or First Aid Beauty’s new Mineral Sunscreen (less iridescent than the Glowscreen). Then add Elf Power Grip Primer. It lays so nicely on my skin. I’ve tried dozens of primers, but I keep going back to this one. It’s been in my kit for well over six years. I've also been using Tarte Maracuja C-brighter™ eye treatment and have really been loving it.
2. Cover + Conceal
I’ve played around with Many foundations; I continue to return to It Cosmetics CC Cream for everyday wear. When applied with a damp beauty sponge, it goes on nicely for medium to full buildable coverage—currently wearing shade Light but when I'm more tan go with shade Medium. I also like using this brush from Sephora. After applying all over my face, I’ll go in with Tarte Power Flex Concealer (shade Light Medium Sand) to see which spots need additional coverage (usually under the eye and blemishes). I like these brushes for foundation and concealer as well.
3. Set the Wet + Bronze
Keep in mind that whenever you apply liquid to your skin, you want to “set the wet” product with powder. This has significantly helped me, and I’ve noticed my makeup holds up better all day long with minimal touch-ups. I use Loreal Infallible Setting Powder and Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder. I use this brush to apply. I like to play around with my bronzers and apply them in a “3” formation on my forehead, cheek, and jawbone. I have loved Physicians Formula Butter Cake Bronzer. It gives the most beautiful natural color; a little goes a long way. I use It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe™ Airbrush Powder & Bronzer Brush.
4. Blush + Highlight
I use the Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter to highlight the cheekbone, bridge of my nose, and underneath my brow bone. It’s become my signature; no other highlight compares to me! I also like to smile and apply a touch of It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Blush to my cheeks (shade Pink Outside of the Box). I like this brush for applying blush.
5. Brows
I just got this last week and I have been loving using the Tarte Sketch & Set Brow Pencil and Tinted Gel (shade Medium Brown). I love that it is a pencil and brow gel in one. Makes doing my brows so easy and they look great!
6. Eyes + Lashes
How much I do of this step is often determined by how much time I have and how “done up” I’d like to look. Also if I have my Flutter Habit At Home Eyelash Extensions on or if I put on False Lashes. For everyday I usually have Flutter Habit Eyelashes on and put Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara on my bottom lashes. I discovered this mascara a few years ago, and it’s INCREDIBLE when you don’t want to deal with flaking or the dreaded “raccoon eyes.” It’s a tubular formula, so it comes off in little ‘tubes when you take it off.’ I highly recommend this for anyone who has issues with flaking/smudging.
I also have been using this eyelash growth serum from Dime Beauty for over a year, and I LOVE it. It's really helped my lashes grow and get stronger.
If I put on False Lashes I will apply a eyeshadow primer. I really like the Elf Eyelid Primer. After that I will put on Loreal Brilliant Eyes Liquid Eyeshadow in shade Crystal Shine. It's sparkly and a good neutral. I do not really like a lot of eyeshadow on. Then I use Maybelline MasterPrecise All Day Liquid Liner to line the top of my eyelid. Before doing my eyeliner I will put the eyelash glue on my false eyelashes so it can get tacky before applying. I apply my false lashes with tweezers and a handheld mirror. I have really been liking these false lashes.
7. Add a Lip
To bring the look together, I’ve loved this Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip in shade Strawberry (Pink Berry). It gives a beautiful tint and lots of hydration. I wouldn't say I like the feeling of dry lips, so I always have this Neutrogena Hydroboost Lip Sleeping Mask nearby.
I hope you loved this post! Feel free to leave any of your favorite spring makeup products or finds below. I’m sure others would love to hear! As always, thanks for reading. xx CCB
